SERVICE PROCESS
1. collection/Pickup.
We encourage our clients to train the team to make sure that the laundry is put to the right bags.
The contaminated laundry should be put into appropriate containment.
The bags should be securely closed or tied to avoid possible leakage.
Wet laundry should be placed in leak-resistant containment.
Also, the bags should be clearly marked to guide both transporters and laundry workers. We help You to setup all this process and personalize based on Your facility size and your team needs.
2. Sorting.
Our team then sorts laundry.
3. Spotting.
Pre-spotting is selectively treating certain stains and garments before they undergo the cleaning process. We consider this stage when planning the timing of service. Why? When we take the extra time to look at the garments and pre-treat some stains, our cleaning and stain removal is always more productive and achieve a higher level of quality. We train our team to perform spotting right.
4. Washing.
The complete laundering cycle includes flushing, main wash, rinsing, and souring, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
5. Drying, Ironing,and Folding.
The laundry is then dried and pressed. To maintain the sanitary conditions of the processed linens, we understand the principle that whatever surface the clean linen touches must be as hygienically clean as the linen. So all the ironing and folding is done based on the highest sanitary conditions.
6. Packing.
We make sure that all items are well packaged before transportation to prevent contamination from dust and dirt.
The laundry is then being transported back to client’s facility. Our delivery personnel is always courteous and prompt.
7. Delivery on time.
Hygienic vs. Sanitized Linens
How is hygienic different from sanitized?
Laundry can be regarded as hygienically clean after going through the process of soil and pathogen removal, and pathogen inactivation. In this case, such laundry has a negligible risk to patients and healthcare workers. You can assume that it has been cleaned enough to remove most pathogens. Unfortunately, there is no standard definition for what “hygienic linen” means.
In general, sanitization term is used to refer to the phase of killing more pathogens after the washing phase. Textiles such as surgical drapes and gowns need to be sanitized before use. Therefore, sanitized linens undergo an additional procedure to kill the drug-resistant strains of diverse pathogens, like Staphylococcus Aureus, Clostridium difficile, Giardia Cyst, and Cryptosporidium Oocyst.
Why Does It Matter?
It matters because it’s nearly impossible to attain proper laundry hygiene in a healthcare facility without a well-planned personalized policy. To handle risks you should always have a well-structured policy in place for handling contaminated textiles in a healthcare facility.
